I'm sorry to inform you that Richard has passed away. He started with
a headache which was a sinus infection which caused bacterial meningitis.
He was fighting it and we thought we had it licked, but he then had a
massive stroke.

I just got home and turned on this machine and found this message,
and I hate having this kind of message to send to you.
My heart is very saddened and shocked at this news, and I'll let
you know if I hear of any update.
Muriel Davies is Richard's wife.
When our class was responsible for heading up the March
Pow Wow, Richard was the very most accurate treasurer and
 helped me immeasurably. I'll go so far as to say that I'll bet there
hasn't been, nor will be, a better treasurer for any other class!!!
- and he was a reallygood guy.

From Reginald Dunlap to friends and classmates:
Oh what a wonderful friend is gone. " The elements were so mixed in
him, " he was very brave but very gentle at the same time. His
senior year, nobody in the Sunset League could swim the 100 yard
free- style faster than he. We always double-dated, ALL THE TIME,
and hung out together too , and I don't think I ever saw Richie really
angry about anything. For a while , when we were in school together,
I knew all of Richie's secrets, and he loved all of you.

Richard’s wife called Maureen to let her know about the services for Richard.  They will be on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Loma Vista Mortuary (being held in the Mausoleum) – 701 Bastanchury Rd., Fullerton.  The reception will be held at the Los Coyotes Golf Course on Bastanchury – it’s just a short distance east of the cemetery.  Muriel is asking for an approximate count for that day.  Let Maureen know that you’re planning to attend. She'll relay the number to her.  If you don't have Maureen's e-mail address or phone number, email Connie at CVANHORN@PACBELL.NET
