THOMAS EDWARD DUFF, FUHS 1960

Duff, Tom 11/25/42 - 11/7/17
Thomas Edward Duff passed away peacefully at his home in Brea, CA. When he was born, he shocked his parents, Dan and Jeri, as he came out holding a fishing pole and a Fullerton College Hornets pennant. After graduating from Chico State in 1964, with a BA in accounting, he went on to get his MBA and his CPA certificate. Very successful as state bank auditor, in 1980, he returned to Fullerton College, where he taught for 30 years. It was Tom's passion for fishing, however, that sent him and his buddies yearly to Mammoth Lakes, where he swore the fish "trembled when they heard his name". Tom's ultimate passion, however, was Fullerton College sports. A supporter of the Hornets for over 50 years, he was honored in 2009 by the Athletic Department with the Dean's Award and in 2015, was inducted into the Fullerton College Athletic Hall of Fame. Never wanting a fuss made, he requested no service be performed. Tom will be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea. Tom always said with a grin, "Just scatter my ashes, and let the fish do to me, what I've done to them over the years".
