WESLEY W. SMITH, FUHS 1940

Smith, Wesley W., passed away at home on March 27th following a brief illness. He was 86.
Wes, as he was known to his friends, was born in Apperson, OK, and moved to Fullerton at an early age where he graduated from Fullerton High School before joining the Army Air Corps. During WWII he piloted a B-25 Bomber and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart for his service.
Following the war he returned to Fullerton, met and married his wife of 62 years, Ethelyn "Lynn" Miller, and started his own business, Valve Services, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs and Bakersfield. Throughout the years he was involved in Scouting and served as President of the Fullerton Recreational Riders where he remained active for many years.
He enjoyed trail rides, boating, traveling and camping, and owning and flying his own aircraft. He also loved cars, old and new, restoring several antique vehicles. He served on the committee for the development of Tri-City Park.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn , son, Richard and family of Boulder City, Nevada; daughter, Terry and family of Nevada City, CA.; granddaughters, Kara and Shannon; grandson, Travis, and great-grandson Connor.
Private services were held on April 4th.
He will be greatly missed.
