 Bice, Dr. Gregory A. "Bompa", died peacefully on November 12, 2013 in Manhattan Beach, California.
Dr. Bice was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa on January 15, 1939. He earned a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where he lettered in football. Dr. Bice also earned a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California ("Fight On").
Dr. Bice's professional career began as a high school football head coach in Grundy Center, Iowa. In 1962, he married his wife of 51 years, Diane Ransom. After relocating to California, Dr. Bice worked in the Fullerton Union High School District from 1963 - 2000 as a counselor at Fullerton Union High School, vice principal at Sunny Hills High School, principal at Fullerton Union High School, and district assistant superintendent of human resources. Dr. Bice dedicated his career to building the character of and the quality of education for thousands of high school students throughout southern California.

Dr. Bice is survived by his wife, Diane; 3 children, Camille Wedbush of Manhattan Beach, California, Brad Bice of Roswell, Georgia and Brent Bice of Edgewater, Maryland; 7 grandchildren, Jackson Wedbush, Georgia Wedbush, Chaz Wedbush, Griffin Bice, Baylor Bice, Reagan Bice and Palmer Bice; son and daughter-in-law, Eric Wedbush and Holly Bice; and countless friends, most of whom knew him as "Bompa."
In retirement, Dr. Bice resided in Manhattan Beach and Lake Almanor, California. He was a dedicated fisherman, golfer, and baker who enjoyed watching sporting events and his grandchildren's activities. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend.
Services to celebrate the life of Dr. Bice will be held at Manhattan Beach Community Church on December 6th at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Greg Bice Scholarship fund, which will recognize Fullerton Union High School seniors with upstanding character. Donations should be made payable to Fullerton Union High School (FUHS), c/o Joanie Burgess, Fullerton Union High School, 201 E. Chapman Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92832.
