FRED ROBIRDS, FUHS 1944

Robirds, Fred

Fred Robirds died peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
Fred was born in La Habra, CA. In winning the Mr. Los Angeles contest as a baby, he began his life's passion for performing and being in the spotlight. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and came home pursuing a career as a pharmacist. He graduated from Fullerton J.C. and the University of Colorado where he also tested his stamina as an athlete, a boxer, and a star football player. His side career as a master party organizer began there as a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He returned to California and opened his first drugstore, Orange Crest Drugs in Orange, CA. His second store was Redhill Drugs in Tustin, CA. This was a family store where all family members worked and contributed to the success of the store - his creation. His pharmaceutical career lasted over 40 years.
He was a master craftsman and one of the most creative humans God ever blessed on this Earth. Fred liked to invent, write, and build. He was proud of his family and what they created and achieved in life. He was married and devoted to his life-partner and loving wife of 65 years, Violet. Together they were the consummate party couple and loved planning and hosting events. They were world travelers always in pursuit of life's next marvel and curiosity.
Fred loved his barbershop quartets and the members of this singing and joyous community. He loved being a bass singer and identified with this registry throughout his life. Now that he is singing in "the great concert in the sky", he is survived by wife Violet, son Randall, daughter Robin (Rick), granddaughter Jessica (David), grandson John, and great granddaughter Taylor.
Hey fellas - "How about another round of 'That Old Gang of Mine.'"
RIP Dad - We Love You and thank you for a wonderful life experience!
