MARILYN HOPE JOHNSON FORD, FUHS 1941




Ford, Marilyn Hope  December 14, 1923 - August 21, 2017
On August 21st, 2017, 22 years to the day after the passing of her beloved husband, Marilyn joined him beyond the veil, passing peacefully at home in Irvine, CA, among members of her family. She is loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn was born December 14th, 1923 in Anaheim, California, to Ross Bernard Johnson and Helen Marion Everett. She grew up in Yorba Linda, graduated from Fullerton Union High School, and attended 
UCLA. It was at FUHS where she met her husband and love of her life, Maurice E. Ford, Jr. – they wed on August 22, 1945 in Manhatten, NY, during his active service in the US Navy near the end of WWII. They moved back to California, made a life, raised 6 children, and traveled the world together.
Her passions included her family, her church community, sewing, painting, gardening and volunteer work. She volunteered for her church, hospital auxiliaries and other organizations that reflected her passions, such as Sherman Gardens, and was a long-time member of PEO, chapter QV in Newport Beach.
Marilyn is survived by her 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren: Marilee (Rob), grandchildren Kadin, Daren & Tesia, and great-grandchildren, Mia, Brooklyn, Bryton & Brady; Judy (Ken) and grandson Jerrad; Gale (Richard) and grandsons Evan & Garrett, and great-grandchildren Arthur & Willa; Dennis (JoLee) and grandchildren Kelsey & Cameron; John (Denise) and granddaughter Kenyon; Janis (Russ) and grandchildren Chelsea & Riley.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 at Good Shepherd Luteran Church, in Irvine CA. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to PEO (please make check out to PEO – Program for Continuing Education.
