NICOLAS STEIN, FUHS 1942
Stein, Nicolas
With great sorrow,
the Stein family would like to announce the passing of Nicolas
Stein on the evening of March 16, 2018..
Nicolas, a proud
husband, father, and grandfather, will be fondly remembered by
those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joan, his
son Michael, his daughter-in-law Pamela, his grandchildren Nicolas
and Rebecca, and many other family members. Born on May 4, 1924,
and raised in Fullerton, Nicolas lived on his family
property all his life and was a longtime member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church for 93 years. During World War II, Nicolas served in
the United States Coast Guard, where he bravely performed his duties
as a sonar man on the USCGC Eastwind.
His favorite
activities included golf, sailing, and fishing with his friends and family in
the High Sierras. His quick sense of humor, work ethic, and his intense love
for family and friends will be remembered by all those who met him.
The Stein
family asks to remember Nicolas with a toast of his favorite drink - bourbon,
while we celebrate his meeting with God and his family in Heaven. We invite you
to join us at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary on Sunday, March 25th at 7:00 pm
for a praying of the rosary, and at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, March
26th at 10:00 am for a funeral mass.
