WESLEY W. ROLLO, FUHS 1935



Rollo, Wesley W., peacefully passed on May 3, 2010 at the age of 92. Wes moved to Fullerton when he was 7 years old and attended the Fullerton School System graduating from Fullerton Junior College. During his youth Wes was active in the YMCA, various sports and earned a "gold javelin" in track at FCC. Wes graduated from USC in 1940 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was elected to Blue Key and was President of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. It was while at USC that he met his wife of 68 years, Betty Stone. Wes was a life-long avid USC fan serving as President of the Half Century Trojans. He received the Half Century Trojans Distinguished Service Award, the USC Alumni Association President's Award and was a member of the Associates. Drafted prior to Pearl Harbor, Wes attended Officer Candidates School and served in the Pacific Theatre landing in the invasion of Leyte and Okinawa. After the War he remained in the Army Reserve and retired as a Lt. Colonel. Most of Wes' professional life was in the real estate area of banking, he retired as Vice President of Real Estate Lending for the Bank of California. He was actively involved in the Long Beach Community serving on the Salvation Army Board and Kiwanis. Wes actively served his church for 58 years and was awarded "Elder Emeritus" from the Bixby Knolls Christian Church. Since 2006 the Rollos have resided at Morningside in Fullerton. Wes is survived by his wife, Betty Louise; children Carol Loughner, Robert (Kim) grandchildren, Christopher Loughner, Matthew Loughner, Rob Rollo (Jennifer), Jonathan, Joey, Katheryn (Patrick) Patrick (Ashley) and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the scholarship fund of the First Christian Church of Fullerton or to the USC Half Century Trojans Scholarship Endowment Fund.
