Frances Sorrells Crandall  FUHS 1948

Message from 1948 class rep Joan Grigsby Sorsabal

I just talked to Gwynn. She went to Iris’ Service yesterday. She said it was a beautiful service and there were a lot of friends and family there. They had a reception at the house afterward.

Gwynn Fulbright Moodie, Roberta Hamilton Ellis, Donna Johnson Shook and Genie LeVally Page attended from the Class of ’48. While visiting with others she heard that Frances Sorrells Crandall had passed away within the last couple of weeks. I haven’t been able to find out anything about Frances. Has anyone heard anything?

Hi Connie,

I read on your blog about Frances Crandall. My sister Connie and Frances' sister Louise Sorrells - '58, were classmates. Louise and her husband Tony Ramos, invited us to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary a couple of years ago. We enjoyed spending time chatting with Fran.

I hesitated to confirm with Louise that her sister had passed, but since I hadn't read anything of her passing, I contacted Louise. This is her response. She is still struggling with the loss of her sister, and asked if I would let you know that Fran did pass away.

Hi, Lee Ann!

I'm sorry to say, but my sister did pass away on Aug. 3, after a long illness. Her service was held on the 8th.

It was a beautiful service led by one of her sons, who is a pastor. The eulogy was given by her oldest son.

Along with those 2 sons and another, with 2 grandsons, performed a couple of songs.

Lee Ann Cameron
