LUCY KRUSE, FUHS 1948

Kruse, Lucy, was born on March 28, 1929 in Owensmouth, California. 

She is the twin sister of Oda Hatten. They grew up together in an orphanage until the age of 12 when they were adopted by Otto and Emily Idso. 

Lucy grew up in Fullerton, went to Fullerton High School, Fullerton College, and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Cal State Fullerton. 

Around 1945 she met Bill Kruse and in 1950 they were married at First Lutheran Church in Fullerton. She worked as a third-grade teacher at Fern Drive Elementary School and later worked at Western State College of Law in the financial aid department. Lucy and Bill loved traveling to many countries throughout the world, including Russia, China, Europe, and an African safari. 

She was very proud of her two sons James and Daniel and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill. She is survived by her twin sister, Oda Hatten; her sons, Jim and Dan; and her grandchildren, Perri, Rachel, Corbett and Cade. 

A funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church of Fullerton at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 with interment to follow at 2:30 P.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
