TOM STRATHMAN (1936-2006)
After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Tom Strathman passed away at his home in Mono City, California on January 3rd. Strathman was born in Fullerton, California and resided there for 50 years prior to moving to the Eastern Sierra. He was a resident of Mono County for the past 20 years. He enjoyed exploring new places in his 1970 Chevy pickup with his wife Elaine and dog Willie. His outgoing, compassionate personality made him a deeply loved person by many. He celebrated life to its fullest through friendship, good food and laughter. He is survived by his sister Betty Pryor and brother Jack Porter of San Juan Capistrano, California, his daughter Anna Strathman, his son-in-law Jim Harper "little pal" and granddaughter Jordyn Harper, Solar the cat and his dog, Willie who stayed by his side to the end. Most importantly, he is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, his beloved wife Elaine. Their love for one another grew stronger through the challenges they faced. They spent 44 years together seeking and finding joyful adventure. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the: Mammoth Hospital Cancer Fund.
