** 720 Reservations **

PARKING ON MARCH 11:
The hotel just called Pat and said that if you park behind the hotel. you don't have to walk all the way around to the front entrance. As you walk up to the back of the hotel, there is a walkway to your right that takes you to the side entrance of the banquet room. Something was said about a canvas tarp, but I received this message second-hand so I think they meant that the walkway was covered, but don't get your hopes up about this. (I don't know if you get towed if you park in the restaurant's lot across the street.) If I hear any more, I will add it. (Evidently there is an entrance to the back parking lot if you take Chapman past Harbor and turn left on Burel. I will research that spelling. If you look at a map and find I am wrong, please let me know.)

*** IMPORTANT *** "STAND-BY" LIST EXPLANATION
If your reservation was received after the 720 available places were taken, your name has been placed on a “Stand-By” list used to determine where you will be seated. This is the first year that the room has been reserved to its capacity, but we are hoping that “No-Shows” will open up enough seats in the banquet room for everyone attending. If that doesn’t happen, you might have to eat in another room.
If there are more than 720 attendees, I will post the “Stand-By” list here and keep it updated. If you are still on this list when you come to the luncheon, check with me, Connie, to see your status as it may change as we get late news of “No-Shows”.

“Walk-ins” will be placed at the bottom of any “Stand-by” list.

If you have made a reservation and find out that you can’t attend, please let me know immediately so we can move people off the list.

** OLD NEWS **
At the Pow Wow committee meeting at the hotel on Feb 9, we were told that the hotel can handle all of the reservations that people are still trying to mail in to Lois so get that paper work in. (Now don't think you can wait this late every year because if there aren't 500 reservations by a certain date, the down-payment for the banquet can't be paid (unless someone wants to assume that responsibility) and the Pow Wow can't be held that year. (I do worry about the people who are planning to just pay at the door instead of sending in their reservation because there may not be room - or food- for them this year.)

500 people is the minimum to fund the luncheon. There are 723 to date so the checks that arrived early have been deposited. You can still contact your friends who are missing from this list and urge them to join you. WARNING FROM CONNIE! (1/17/2006)
One person who has his e-mail address listed on the FUHS alumni web page (http://members.aol.com/fuhsalumni/alumni.htm ) told me today that his e-mail address (which was created and used only on that site) was used by someone trying to steal his bank information. He has contacted the bank and reported the crime.
E-mails of this type purport to come from a bank, credit card, or other financial institution, asking the addressee to send confidential information, apparently to the financial institution, but actually to the criminals who wish to use the information for other purposes, such as identity theft.
One should never send confidential information via e-mail.
I don’t feel that I have to remove my e-mail address from the FUHS site because of this warning. It just reminds me to be vigilant for any attempt to obtain my personal information.
