IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM FUHS WEB MASTER

AOL is shutting down their free web site service. I have moved the FUHS Alumni Online web site to www.fuhsalumnionline.com. Can you help me spread the word?
Thanks,
Kurt Sineri (class of 1980)
Hot link from Connie: http://www.fuhsalumnionline.com/

(This is the website "soon NOT to be found" at http://members.aol.com/fuhsalumni/ where many alums put their email addresses. I visited the new web site and found no differences. He is keeping his same email address at aol, which he has listed on his web site, in case you have news for him to post or an old email address to update. If you have his web site in your "Favorites", update it. I don't know when the old site will be closed, so do it soon. If you find a post where I show the old web site name, let me know as I may not remember to change them all.)

RUTH ANNE (MCBRIDE) GARRISON, FUHS '38

Garrison, Ruth Anne (McBride), passed away September 30, 2008 in the presence of her family in Davis, CA. Ruth Anne was born January 14, 1921 in Panora, Iowa.
Her father, Arthur Wood McBride moved with his wife, Ruth Babbitt McBride, Ruth Anne and her brother Arthur McBride to Orange County California in 1927 where he edited and published the La Habra Star. Ruth Anne fondly remembered working in the town library and riding her bicycle through the orange groves to picnic with her friends. She excelled at Fullerton High School and earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature from Pomona College in 1942.
Ruth Anne's nascent sense of humor and flair for character acting really blossomed at college, and the friends she made at Pomona lasted a lifetime. She met her husband, Erskine Pope Garrison at Fort Lewis, Washington while serving in the Red Cross. After a couple of years living in Raleigh, North Carolina near Pope's family, the couple settled in Long Beach, California where they raised their three children, Stephen, Janet and Julie. Pope and Ruth Anne moved to Newport Beach in 1979. Ruth Anne brought her excellent intelligence, vocabulary, grammar and wit to her parenting, her marriage, her executive secretary work and her bridge games, her crossword puzzles and acrostics and her many friendships. She traveled to every continent except Antarctica, but she was never happier than when she was sitting at home with a good book and a carefully prepared sandwich with garnish.
She is survived by her three children, her daughters-in-law, Laura J Reyes and Janet Bacon Garrison; her three grandchildren, Daniel, Laura and Alicia, and her new great-granddaughter, Amelia Clair Garrison.
Donations can be made in Ruth Anne's name to Yolo Hospice, POB 1014, Davis, CA 95617.

FUHS-100 YEARS OF FOOTBALL

Mike Johnson, class rep for 1958, sent this message:

Let's get out and support our school and 100 years of football at FUHS. After the game we can go to the Stadium at Wilshire and Harbor Blvd for a post game wrap with friends and fellow alumni. This would be a great wrap to our 50th for those who were not able to come to the reunion. There is special seating for the alumni at the 50 yard line. Those who can do it can obtain a Golden pass from the Fullerton Join Union High School office which will get you into high school events free.

The FUHS Homecoming is at 7:00, Friday, October 31, 2008.

We are celebrating 100 years of FUHS Football this season. Our Varsity Football team is 4 and 1, ranked 2nd in our division of CIF and ranked 15th in Orange County
