RON HENDRA, FUHS 1958

Email from Mikie Johnson (class rep for class of ’58) Friday, December 27, 2013 7:43 PM
I received this e mail from John Leatherby to day. That's two of our classmates in one week! How sad at this joyous time of the year.
Mikie

We are so sorry to have to share this news, but Christmas morning, Ron passed away.

It was unexpected. Many neighbors, friends, and family saw him in the weeks leading up to Christmas, for which we are very grateful. Some of you got emails from him Tuesday night or Wednesday morning even, sharing his current focus on house updates/renovations and his appreciation for seeing Jim home for the holidays, spending time with Jim’s family and John and Mary visiting him Christmas day. But, his heart simply stopped Christmas morning, and despite attempts to revive him, he passed on. Many of the neighbors on this loving street of his were with the family as emergency personnel did their work and throughout the day. One suggested that perhaps Patti, or Toots, or both really wanted him with them for Christmas Day. We don’t know why he had to leave when he did, but we know he is much loved and already missed.

Memorial services have been set for:

Saturday, January 4th at 10:30am

He will join Patti at:

Memory Garden Memorial Park

455 W. Central Ave. ,

Brea, CA 92821

A reception will follow at his home:

619 Heather Ave.

Placentia, CA 92870

A book will be collected for John and Jim of signatures/notes that day, but also any pictures or stories/memories of Ron which you would like them to remember of their father. If you have anything you would like to share, please email them to Mary Hendra (John’s wife) at hendrajam@yahoo.com or bring them to the reception.

We appreciate your help in spreading the word to those who knew Ron and might want to attend or share their thoughts with his sons. And, we appreciate your thoughts of comfort in this time of great loss.

If you have any questions about the service, please feel free to contact Mary or Jackie Hendra (Jim’s wife):
