Updyke, Daniel Robert
Daniel Robert Updyke, 66, of Palm Desert, passed away on November 19, 2014, in Palm Springs, CA. He was born in Fullerton, CA along with his twin sister, Julie Anne, on September 25, 1948.
He was very active in sports throughout his life, playing football and baseball at Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, CA where he graduated in 1966.
After graduation, Dan worked at Coast Pontiac, but spent every free moment on the golf course. Dan was drafted and spent two years as an Army Sergeant during the Vietnam war.
Upon his return, he continued to work in the auto industry and became the General Manager of Frahm Dodge in Norco, CA.
Dan carried that passion for golf with him throughout the rest of his life and was very well known in the world of golf. He was a long time member of the Indian Wells Country Club where he won the club championship one year.
Dan had been married and divorced. He leaves behind his father, Robert Frank Updyke (Doris) of Palm Desert; his mother, Marian Carolyn Morgan of Hemet, CA; his brother, Dr. Timothy Updyke (Christine); half-brother, Dr. William Updyke (Diane); and half-sister, Jill Updyke Lee (Anthony); as well as four nephews and a niece. His sister, Julie Anne, preceded him in death.
A gathering of friends and family was held in his honor at Indian Wells Country Club on December 5th. At his request, there will be a private family service.

ANNE CELIA (KLINDT) FALCONER FUHS 1944

Anne Celia Falconer was born June 27, 1926 in Upland, CA to Herbert Irving Klindt and Edith Klindt and passed away Nov. 21 2014. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Elizabeth Klindt; her husband, William Falconer the III; and daughter, Susan Falconer.

Anne grew up in Upland, CA and moved to Fullerton in 1942. Anne met the love of her life, William Falconer at Fullerton High School. William left during his senior year to fight in WWII. They met up again at Fullerton College and were married in 1949. They were married 56 wonderful years.

Anne worked for Union Oil Company for 10 years. She retired from professional work to raise their 2 Children Billy and Susie. When Bill retired they traveled all over the the world. Favorite places included, China, Australia and New Zealand. Anne had many hobbies: knitting, needle point and playing bridge. She also was a volunteer and supporter of St. Jude's hospital.

Anne lived well and fully; family and friends are still coming to terms with our sudden loss. The family who survives, who is so grateful to have been loved so well by her, includes her son, William I. Falconer and his wife, Carlene; her 4 grandsons, William A. Falconer and his wife, Amber, Trevor Falconer and his wife, Crystal, Jordan and his wife, Jacquie, and Dylan Falconer; her 6 great grand sons, Christian, Seth, William Hayden, Maddux, Davis and Jasen.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know Sam Jones.
We were both born and raised in Fullerton and went all the way through school together: Golden Hill Elementary, Wilshire Junior High and Fullerton Union High School (Sam was added to the school’s Wall of Fame in 2003).

His work is, again, becoming very public. He directed a two-hour documentary, “Lost Songs: The Basement Tapes Continued,” which will debut Friday night Dec 5 on Showtime.
