Joan Paula Dolan, 68, longtime resident of Fullerton, CA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Joan "Joanie" was born in Orange, CA on July 22, 1947, the only child of Harriet "Joetta" Adams Engler and John Paul Engler. She graduated in 1965 from Fullerton Union High School, a tradition started by her mother, Joetta and continued by her two daughters. Joanie spent most of her career in the legal field, working as a court reporter for the county of Orange at the time she met her husband and soulmate, Bill, a highly regarded attorney practicing in Fullerton, CA. Bill and Joanie were married on December 4, 1971 and had two daughters. Joanie joined Bill working in his law practice as his secretary, office manager, and daily lunch date for 30 years up until they retired in late 2011. Joanie and Bill enjoyed many cruises and trips together, including weekend trips to Laughlin, Nevada. After Bill passed away in 2013, Joanie became active attending the OLLI program at CSUF, and fulfilled her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Joan is survived by her two loving daughters, Stacy L. Dolan and Stephanie A. Dolan, extended family and many wonderful friends. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Joetta Simmons; father, John Paul Engler; and husband, William A. Dolan. There will be a viewing 4PM - 7PM with rosary at 6 PM Wednesday, May 11, both at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton. A funeral mass will be held 10AM Thursday, May 12, at St. Juliana Catholic Church, with burial following at Loma Vista Memorial Park. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
