THOMAS ALLISON, FUHS 1953

Allison, Thomas Lee,
78, passed peacefully on May 17, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marian; two sons, Russ and Jeff; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and two grandsons, Shane and Thomas. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Tom grew up and spent 70 years of his life in Fullerton. As a youth he spent many hours at Amerige Park and working downtown at Wilkinson's Drug Store. He graduated from Fullerton HS, joined the Army and proudly served in Germany. Upon return, he met and married Marian. They purchased a home in a wonderful Fullerton neighborhood in 1969. Tom worked for Bergen Brunswig Wholesalers, beginning in the warehouse in 1958 and retiring as a Vice-President in 1994.
He was an honest and kind man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tom thoroughly enjoyed traveling, gardening and cherished time with family and friends. Upon retirement he volunteered his time for several causes. He was frequently seen in his Ford pick-up helping others with projects, headed to the hardware store or going to Angel Stadium. The morning started with a cup of coffee over the newspaper, then he headed outside to embrace the day. Tom always had a kind word, a helpful hand and a smile.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 21st at First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Richman Gardens for their caring support during Tom's final months.

SHIRLEY FOSTER HASS, FUHS 1953

(Sad news from Jo Fletcher Hodson, FUHS '53, about Shirley Foster Hass, FUHS '53 - Scroll down to get information about where and when a memorial is planned.)

The bad news came today that Shirley Hass passed away this morning (Tuesday, May 1). Her daughter-in-law said it was very peaceful and her family was with her. Arrangements are being discussed and I will let you know when those have been made.
If you choose to send cards or letters, they can be mailed to Charlie in care of his son, Jeff Hass. (E-mail Connie at CVanHorn@pacbell.net for Jeff's address.)
Shirley's passing on May Day seems significant as it is a day of flowers and she loved her flowers, especially roses. She was a dear friend and I have tears of sorrow at the loss but can treasure happy memories of our many years of friendship.
Jo Hodson
(Connie, if you wish, you can post this and arrangement information later).

(Additional information sent from Jo on Sunday, May 6:)

I just received a call from Mary Ann Hass giving me the following information regarding a memorial for Shirley.
There will be a memorial reception/open house for Shirley on Saturday, May 12 from 1 - 4 p.m at the home of Jeff and Nancy Hass (email Connie for address in Moorpark). Earlier in the day, Shirley's ashes will be scattered at sea in a private ceremony for family only. All are invited to the reception.
Jo

Please email me (Connie) if you plan to attend so that I can give them a count.
