ECKELS, JOHN (HILLSIDE DRIVE-IN OWNER)


Mike Johnson, class rep for the class of ’58, sent this email about the owner of the Hillside Drive-In when many alums were in school:

 
John was a special guest of the class of ‘58 when they hosted the Pow Wow.

 

 
Eckels, John, 95, passed away March 15, 2013. John was born on April 12, 1917, in Kansas. He moved to Fullerton, California, when he was 17 years old and lived there for the remainder of his life. For over 30 years, John was the proud owner of the Hillside Drive-In. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna. He is survived by his only son, Ed, Ed's wife Janice, grandchildren Heather and Casey, their respective spouses Freddie and Christy, his 5 great grandchildren: Brendan, Madelyn, Morissa,  Kellie, and Ethan, and his great, great granddaughter, Trinyttie. At John's request, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, California.
